The Journey Ahead is the latest 2022 Hallmark romance adventure film lined up in the summer schedule of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries like A Splash of Love, Two Tickets to Paradise, Love in the Limelight, etc.
The movie is directed by Linda-Lisa Hayter from the scripts written by Erin Engman starring Kaylee Bryant(Legacies), Holly Robinson Peete(American Housewife), and Mark Humphrey(E.N.G.) in the lead roles along with the other cast members.
Produced by Kate Gajdosik under Money Media Inc. and Crown Media Productions while Kim Arnott and Kerry David are serving as executive producers to the film.

Where was The Journey Ahead filmed?
The Journey Ahead Hallmark movie was primarily filmed in Squamish, British Columbia while some scenes were also filmed inside Vancouver and around Harrison Hot Springs Village, British Columbia inside Canada. Principal filming began on 16 April 2022 and wrapped up on 1 May 2022 covering almost two weeks.
Director Lisa shared that they were shooting the film under Mother Nature’s studio that is under the sun without any cover. The beautiful river rafting scenes were taken on the Squamish River with the help of drones, according to camera operator Laurent Da.
A production camp was setup inside a nearby town that was fully covered from top to bottom resembling like a giant black box. Squamish is a district municipality of BC located at the north end of Howe Sound on the Whistler Highway. The place is famously known as the outdoor recreation capital of Canada and is known for terrains good for biking, hiking, snowmobiling, and river rafting.

Harrison Hot Springs is a small Canadian town located at the southern end of Harrison Lake in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia. It is a part of the Fraser Valley Regional District located in the neighborhood of town of Agassiz where big sky river was filmed and District of Kent. The town is a resort community popular for its hot springs.

The movie is about an Hollywood actress, Madeline whose influence is slowly fading from the industry as she’s aging. Moreover, she still has not meet someone with whom she can open heart and share her story.
In an attempt to get a real friend, she engages with her assistant’s friend Sarah who drive her from Los Angeles to New York City. There begins an unconditional friendship of two women namely Sarah and Madeline who helps each other in the times of need and grow together.
Sarah teaches the other woman the importance of connections and gives her motivation to achieve some stability in her depressed and lonely life. As the two explore different places, they start to develop feelings for each other and Madeline realizes that there is always a new beginning of life.
