Big Sky River is a 2022 romance film of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries that is known for bringing interesting and suspenseful feature films. Directed by Peter Benson, the movie stars Canadian actress Emmanuelle Vaugier and Kavan Smith(known for The Perfect Bride, When Calls the Heart, You Had me at Aloha) in the lead roles along with the other cast.
Based on the book of the same name as movie by Linda Lael Miller, the movie follows the story of a young woman who develops a romantic relationship with her sheriff neighbor in Montana. The movie is produced by Harvey Kahn, Charles Cooper, Marnie Young, Libby Beers, and Patricia Clifford under Sky Road Productions ltd.
Where was Big Sky River filmed?
Big Sky River movie is set in Parable Country, Montana but the actual filming took place inside the Agassiz city of British Columbia, Canada. Agassiz-Harrison Observer reported that the Aberdeen building was transformed into the Parable country Sheriff’s office on 13 June. Principal filming wrapped up within June 2022.
The reporter shared the photographs showing that the production was setup around the Aberdeen Building and Pioneer Avenue. Sheriff’s office was surrounded by police cars along with some Montana flags.
Old wooden wagon wheels, spring flowers, and worn out benches were also utilized for filming purposes to give the place a real feel of Montana. A large sign covering one of the building’s windows was installed along with the fliers on the bulletin board
Agassiz is a small community located in the Eastern Fraser Valley region of British Columbia. The region is surrounded with mountains, lakes and the great Fraser River that makes the place an ideal location to mimic Montana.
Even though, the location is not popular as Vancouver, the place still serves as the filming home to various romance movies as Love Hard, The 27-Hour Day, Love in the Limelight, Falling for Vermont, My Best Friend’s Request, A Splash of Love, etc.

Synopsis
Tara Kendall is a New Yorker who is looking for a break from her busy life to fill the void the scar her ex-husband has left on her. She decides to book a summer rental in a small rural town of Montana to enjoy her own company while riding horses.
On the other hand, Sheriff Taylor is also suffering from the same problem and looking for someone with whom he can share his pain. Surprisingly, Tara lands as his next door neighbor who has arrived to chill at the place.
Sheriff Boone is kind to Tara and doesn’t want this summer to end. One day, Tara’s stepdaughter knocks at Mr Boone’s doorstep to get his help and spit out the painful past of her mother. Will this experience help in progressing the romance between Tara and Boone?
