Stranger Things Season 4 is the fourth part of an American sci-fi horror drama series created by The Duffer Brothers along with Shawn Levy, Iain Paterson, and Dan Cohen for Netflix.
The story sets in 1980s in a fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana where an important scientific research is taking place for the US Energy Dept but the team secretly falls into performing paranormal and supernatural experiments including human subjects.
Three seasons of this most watched Netflix series have been released so far and now the first volume of season 4 has been released on Netflix with seven new episodes.
When and Where was Stranger Things Season 4 filmed?
Stranger Things season 4 was filmed inside Lithuania, New Mexico and Georgia. The scene sets in Indiana were actually done in Atlanta, the Californian scenes were done inside Albuquerque, and the Russian territory scenes were shot inside Vilnius, ELLE reported.
Filming began in February 2020 inside Vilnius and officially wrapped in September 2021 inside Atlanta.
The Lenora Hills High school school featured in the series is actually Eldorado High School located at 11300 Montgomery Blvd inside North east Albuquerque. Other than that, Roller King skating rink was also utilized for filming and some scenes were also shot in Los Lunas.
Most of the scenes with special effects were filmed within Albuquerque Studios, NM. The studio is owned by Netflix since 2018 and that’s why the CGI graphics scene were easily shot there. California is an iconic filming location for various filmmakers. Holey Moley, Gully, Jackass 4.5, and Valet were filmed recently in CA.
To give a mix or European scenery, the Hopper’s jail was shot inside Lithuania’s actual Lukiškes Prison. Even though, the jail isn’t operational, it is estimated that the prison located in the center of Vilnius near the Lukiskes Square is centuries old.
This was the same prison where Nazis held Jews, Times of Israel reported. The Russia scenes were also done in winter 2020 within the capital city of Lithuania.

Review
Each character is relatable in its own way but have to say that this season is way more violent than the others. The blood shedding CGI, feelings of betrayal, and other mixed feelings put the heart of viewer in a roller coaster ride.
If you have watched previous seasons then you already know that each new season has progressed and performed better than the previous one, the same goes with Stranger Things Season 4.
To give you some spoilers, Freddy Kruger is the most heinous character of this season and if you love thriller series then you will fall in love with him. The Duffer Brothers have produced a gem once again while keeping the 1980s theme alive.
