Amazon Prime has brought another interesting thriller series in the form of The Peripheral for the new generation. The network has tried something different to entertain the sci-fi series fans on this Halloween.
When Netflix and other networks are focusing on releasing their craziest horror films as The Curse of Bridge Hollow and Terrifier 2, Amazon is creating its own fanbase with a mix of drama, thriller, and the future technology.
This American sci-fi series is produced and created by Scott Smith for the Amazon Studios and Warner Bros Television. It has been adapted from a 2014 novel of the same name written by William Gibson that sets in post-apocalyptic version of the future.
Where was The Peripheral filmed?
The Peripheral series was filmed in two faraway places: England, UK and North Carolina, USA during 2021. As per the reports, the principal photography began on 3 May 2021 inside London, England.
After five months of shooting in London, the production team moved to Madison Country, NC on 24 Sep 2021 to finish the rest of the filming that wrapped on 5th of November 2021.
Inside UK, the capital city was utilized for the shooting purposes along with the external surroundings of Trafalgar Square, the Gherkin, and even the famous Buckingham Palace that has been featured in most of the English series.
On the other hand, several pictureseque locations of North Carolina have been used in the series including the town of Marshall in Madison, Redmond Drive, Blannahassett Island, the Back Street, and The Depot on the main street was also used while filming.
Shortly after completion of photography in Marshall, the team shifted to Asheville and Weaverville inside the Buncombe Country. The final scenes were were filmed in Burnsville, Yancey Country and Sylva in Jackson, as per sources.
North Carolina is a popular film setting(We Wish you a married Christmas) but nowadays, the place is grabbing the attention of filmmakers as a real filming location. Some recent movies filmed are Echoes, The Black Phone, Bastard Out of Carolina, Scream, The Summer I Turned Pretty, etc.

Review
First, The Rings of Power and now The Peripheral, Amazon is ruling the epic fantasy genre. The show sets in the future where technology has taken over the world and every single person of the society is digitalized.
In that modern world, a woman named Ella disovers her secret connection to an alternate reality along with her darkest secrets. The show has been filmed perfectly, the cinematographers have done a great job and so as the cast.
Even though, it is the imagination of Scott Smith, this depiction of post apocalyptic world looks so realistic. The moment you will start watching the show, you find some external force pulling you closer and we can only expect that feeling while watching a really good series.
Two out of eight episodes of The Peripheral series have been aired so far and the showmakers nailed it. We will update the review after watching new episodes in future.
