Where was Absolutely Devoted to You filmed?
Hallmark hasn’t officially confirmed a filming location. Based on the Vancouver home base of director Stacey N. Harding and star Kimberley Sustad, and the network’s typical production pattern, the movie was most likely shot in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, but this has not been verified.
Why we think it was shot in Vancouver?
Hallmark hasn’t named a filming city for Absolutely Devoted to You, and it’s not yet listed on the British Columbia production trackers we checked. That said, the circumstantial case for Vancouver is strong:
- The director lives there. Stacey N. Harding is a Vancouver-based DGC/DGA director who has helmed a long run of BC-shot Hallmark titles, including Round and Round, Mystery 101: Deadly History, and episodes of the Vancouver Island–filmed series Holidazed.
- Kimberley Sustad is a longtime Vancouver resident. Sustad relocated to BC early in her career and has shot the bulk of her Hallmark catalog – including The Nine Kittens of Christmas and Wedding Every Weekend – in and around the city.
- It’s the default hub for this type of Hallmark production. The overwhelming majority of Hallmark originals, especially those needing a stand-in “small town” beach/boardwalk setting like the one in this film, shoot in Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island, or the Sunshine Coast.

Behind the Scenes
Kimberley Sustad posted a BTS carousel to her Instagram the day before the premiere, captioned “In my boy band era…” with the cast celebrating a wrap on set. No location tag is attached, but two photos in the carousel are worth noting:
- A group shot on what looks like an indoor soundstage — a painted sky/ocean backdrop, string lights, and prop surfboards leaning against a wall. This is almost certainly how the film’s big “beach bash” dance number was shot: as a built set rather than an actual beach.
- A separate photo shows the cast on a real, outdoor beach — driftwood scattered along the shoreline, a grassy bluff, and distant mountains visible across the water. That’s a real filming location, not a set, and the geography (mountains across a body of water) is consistent with the Pacific Northwest coast — the Vancouver area, the Gulf Islands, or the Sunshine Coast all share that kind of view.
Neither photo names the beach, so we still can’t tell you exactly where it is. But it does confirm the production shot at a genuine outdoor coastal location for at least part of the film, and the scenery lines up with our Vancouver-area estimate rather than contradicting it.
Why Hallmark isn’t saying where it filmed?
Hallmark is famously tight-lipped about exact shooting addresses while a movie is still in its promotional window, and it’s not hard to see why. Naming an exact beach or storefront ahead of a premiere is a good way to turn a quiet residential street into a fan meet-up, which slows down production and isn’t exactly fair to the neighbors.
That secrecy usually loosens up after a movie airs, once local outlets, location scouts, or eagle-eyed fans start spotting familiar landmarks in the background. Nothing like that has surfaced yet for this title.

British Columbia towns like Fort Langley and Steveston Village show up constantly in Hallmark movies – they’re confirmed filming spots for plenty of other titles.
