The holiday romance film “Christmas in Maple Hills” transports viewers to a quaint, snow-covered small town during the most wonderful time of the year.
Directed by Marco Deufemia from a script of Jennifer Snow, the movie follows the story of young woman, who is shocked to learn that the land passed down from her grandparents isn’t in her family’s name but her life takes a turn when a handsome investigators comes by her side.
The film is produced by Myles Milne under Brain Power Studio and INSP Films while the distribution is done by the Great American Family (GAF) inside the United States.
Christmas in Maple Hills Filming Locations
While Maple Hills itself is a fictional place, the movie ‘Christmas in Maple Hills’ was filmed on location in Toronto, Ontario and surrounding communities in Canada.
Production crews set up shop in the Toronto area from March 25th to April 18th, 2022 to capture those perfect Christmas scenes.
Even though it was springtime, movie magic, set designs festooned with lights and garlands, and fake “snow” made it feel like the dead of winter.
One of the central locations was the charming Heritage Main Street in Unionville, Ontario which filled in for Maple Hills’ downtown.
Unionville, with its historical buildings decked out for the season, makes a perfect backdrop for a Christmas flick.
Bukola shared a few photos hanging out with respective crew members off shooting.
The production also shot scenes at Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto which had tents, stalls, and decorations added to become Maple Hills’ bustling Christmas market.
And a suburban area of East Gwillimbury doubled as the exterior of the Bedford family home with its twinkling lights and colorful Christmas decor.
Amanda shared a quick bts video to gave us an on-set tour after filming week. She wrote in the caption:

Several other small towns surrounding Toronto like Port Perry, Greenwood, and Pickering Village were used for additional exterior shots.
Their old-fashioned main streets and historical buildings gave the sense of visiting a quirky small town during the holidays, excellent for the shooting of Christmas in Maple Hills.
Again, Amanda has shared some behind the scenes pics on her instagram while promoting the movie, that is currently available on VUDU and Amazon Prime.
No wonder, Canada is the filming paradise for producers. You will forgot counting but the list of movies filmed in Canada is not going to end.

Emily Alatalo stars as Valerie Warrick, a young woman who is shocked to learn that the land passed down from her grandparents isn’t in her family’s name.
Determined to save her family’s legacy and their dairy farm, she teams up with handsome veteran Walker Jennings (Marcus Rosner) to dig into her family’s past.
Alatalo is a Canadian actress who has starred in numerous Hallmark Channel movies. She’s not active on social media but she has given an excellent performance in the movie with other Christmas in Maple Hills cast.
Marcus Rosner as Walker Jennings
Marcus Rosner stars as Walker Jennings, a handsome and charming veteran who is helping Valerie with her legal battle to save her family’s farm. Walker is a kind and compassionate man who is also a skilled investigator.
Rosner starred in the recent Hallmark films, Flipping for Christmas, Coupled Up For Christmas, Notes of Autumn, and Finding Mr Right. Make sure to check out those movies too, if you are a Rosner fan.
