Anohana Season 2 is not yet officially announced by the A1-Pictures but fans are still hopeful for the show’s renewal. The sad anime TV series is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai, written by Mari Okada, and produced by Noriko Ozaki & Shunsuke Saito under A-1 Pictures Studio. Based on the Japanese serial novel of the same name written by Mari Okada, the series follows a girl named Menma who dies in an accident and reappear as a ghost whose wish needs to fulfilled in order to pass on into the afterlife. The group of six 6th grade students work together to fulfill the wish of Meiko Honma.
Anohana Season 2 Release Date and Time
A sequel for AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day was officially announced on the 10th Anniversary website of Anohana but it was not happen as an anime series but as a staged reading performance. The sequel story revealed the fate of the characters 10 years after the end of Anohana anime. The staged reading performance happened on 28 August 2021 is the only latest thing about Anohana The Flower We Saw That Day franchise. Although, we were wishing for an anime but it was a sweet conclusion too.
No official announcements have been made regarding the future of this romantic anime series but we can expect the show to return someday in 2023 with more episodes. However, the creators aren’t renewing the series due to the lack of manga material which is already finished with a conclusion.
Even though, the fan base of Anohana grew with each episode, the shortness of content material remained the biggest hurdle behind show’s renewal and also the show seems to be ended completely on 24 August 2021 with a sweet ending.
Will there be a season 2 of Anohana?
A season 2 of Anohana is not yet confirmed by A-1 Pictures yet but it can be released when new manga volumes become available. Nothing is impossible in this opportunistic world where Bungo Stray Stray Dogs Season 4, Classroom of the Elite S2, Blue Lock, and Chainsaw Man is possible.
Season 1 released in 2011 with a total of 11 episodes, an anime film was released in August 2013, and a Live-action Television film was released in September 2015. After that, a stage reading performance was released in Aug 2021 which reveals the story after 10 years. Scripts were prepared by Mari Okada and the event was directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai along with Masayoshi Tanaka as illustrator as well as character designer.
What will happen in Anohana Season 2?
Anohana season 2 will reveal the fate of five remaining friends who were seen drinking alcohol while remembering Menma. They are fully mature adults now and doing jobs as Super Peace Busters. Moreover, most of them are married and it is revealed that their secret base is about to be destroyed so the friends decide to arrive at their special place before the arrival of wrecking ball and perform a barbeque cum reunion.
The episode ends as the group reminisce about the past for a while and that they will keep their promise to Menma forever and drink in the memory of their deceased friend. Menma is assured too by looking at the Super Peace Busters who will get along forever no matter what comes in their way.
