Gotham Season 6 is an awaited season for the crime drama superhero series developed by Bruno Heller and produced by Warner Bros Television along with DC Entertainment and Primrose Hill Productions. It stars Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, and David Mazouz in the lead roles of James Gordon, Harvey, and Bruce.
The series focuses on the early days of Gordon at the Gotham City Police Department after the murder of Bruce’s parents and the origin stories of Batman’s most dangerous family villains. Season 5 of the series premiered in 2019, let’s find out details about the sixth season.
Will there be a Season 6 of Gotham?
Unfortunately, there will be no season 6 of Gotham because the original network FOX Entertainment officially announced in 2018 that Gotham season 5 will be the last and finale season of the series.
Despite getting tremendous support from viewers, the creators aren’t showing any interest in renewing the series for a new season of Gotham. However, season 5 was planned to have 10 episodes in total which was later increased to 12.
Why was Gotham cancelled?
There were no falling viewership issues, no bad ratings, and no bad comments. On the other hand, fans were loving the show as today. The thing that led to the show’s cancellation was completion of Batman’s character.
All seasons of Gotham series were having 22 episodes in total except the fifth one which left with only 12 episodes because the creators were running out of content. The story belongs to James Gordon not Bruce Wayne and the plot development was possible until Batman wasn’t a savior.
The moment Batman becomes the boss of Gotham, James Gordon evolve into a retired lawman who cornered himself from solving the crime cases and starts living normal life. After the man give up the action, the story ends.
Gotham Season 6 Release Date and Time
As the series has been officially cancelled by the original networks there is no release date for the sixth part of Gotham. On the other hand, a new Gotham Knights series is scheduled to release in 2023 that sets in after death of Bruce Wayne.
The upcoming series is created by James Stoteraux, Natalie Abrams, and Chad Fiveash under DC Entertainment, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros Television. It will be released on The CW Television Network inside USA.

What will happen in Gotham Season 6?
If there will be a sixth season of Gotham then it will show more of the Bruce Wayne and little of Gordon as nothing much is left to show about his character.
He is now a retired police commissioner who not only know the true identity of Batman but also becomes his good friend to eradicate the crime from the city of Gotham.
Gordon is still married to Barbara Kean and fathered a trouble son, James Jr and daughter Barbara who turned 15. His wife is an alcoholic and troublemaker but still he is married to her. Now You See Me 3 is in progress too.
