Tommy Boy is an American adventure comedy film that takes us through an Ohian town with its filming locations. The film was released in 1995 under the distribution of Paramount Pictures.
With Chris Farly, David Spade, Bo Derek, and Brian Dennehy in the lead roles, the comedy film was directed by Peter Segal, written by Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, and produced by Lorne Michaels.

Most of the shooting of Tommy Boy happened in Sandusky. Tommy Callahan, the main character of the movie was also born and raised in the same town, and this is the place, where his family’s auto anciliary business is located in the film.
Marblehead, Ohio, USA
The picturesque lakeside community of Marblehead provided a scenic backdrop for some of the outdoor scenes. Though, we don’t the exact scenes that were filmed there, you can identify it while watching the film by looking at Marblehead Lighthouse in the background.
Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
This Canadian town was known for its farming communities during the medieval period, and in 1853, it was also developed into an industrial centre on the Northern Railway of Canada.
Some of the popular landmarks that can be seen in the Tommy Boy movie includes Upper Canada Mall, Southlake Regional Health Centre, Fairy Lake, and the Main Street Heritage Conservation District.
There is also a Newmarket in Suffolk country of England, that is famous as the centre for the multibillion-pound racehorse breeding industry, but here, we are talking about the Newmarket of Ontario, that was used for the shooting of street scenes throughout the movie.

The town of Durham, Ontario also served as a filming location for the 1995 film.

Just down the road from Durham, the production team setup camps in the charming town of Port Hope to capture a few shots. Most likely, they have used the town hall of the municipality to shoot the college scenes.
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
As the characters were moving from one location to another, the production team was also shifting locations. One such shift happened in Toronto, the capital city of Ontario province, and the most populous city of Canada.
As per IMDb reports, BCE Place, Hart House, and the University of Toronto-St. George campus were utilized for filming purposes.
Brampton, Ontario, Canada
Brampton was another Canadian city, that served as the shooting location for Tommy Boy movie. It is a part of Greater Toronto Area, located in the Peel region, and is known for its large greenhouse industry. Once upon a time, the city was also known as The Flower Town of Canada.

El Mirage Dry Lake, California, United States
Production team returned to the soil of United States to capture those desert scenes. The El Mirage Dry Lake is a dry Lake in the northwestern Victor Valley of the central Mojave Desert in San Bernardino Country.
The scene where Tommy Boy is driving under an overpass singing to “Come on Eileen” was filmed at 2299 E Imperial Highway in Los Angeles.
After that there’s a scene where Tommy is driving down bridge over Oxnard Blvd after the song, that scene was filmed at E Channel Islands Blvd Oxnard.
Big Bear Lake is another beautiful location of California that was used in the filming of Night of the Grizzly (1966).

What is the plot?
After barely graduating college, Tommy Callahan Jr. returns home to a surprise: his dad’s getting married and wants him to take a big role in the family auto parts business. But tragedy strikes when his dad suddenly dies, leaving the company on the brink of collapse.
To save it, Tommy joins forces with his dad’s uptight assistant Richard on a wild sales trip, facing off against ruthless competitors and their own mismatched personalities all in a hilarious fight to keep his dad’s dream alive.
