The Other Black Girl release date has been officially announced at Hulu with some new images. It has been announced that the black comedy series will be released on 13 Sep 2023 with ten episodes.
We have some first look images from Hulu and Onyx Collective that are showing Ashleigh Murray and Sinclair Daniel as the two black women in the main roles.
The mystery series is an adaptation of a 2021 bestselling novel by Zakiya Dalila Harris that follows the story of Nella, a black editorial assistant employed in a New York City publishing firm among a group of mostly white workers.
The Other Black Girl Release Date and Time
The Other Black Girl episode 1 is set to release on 13 Sep 2023 on Hulu and will be exclusively streaming for Hulu subscribers inside the United States. It will have a total of ten episodes with an average runtime of 40 minutes.
Since the show is a Hulu original like Only Murders in the Building, Freaknik documentary, White Men Can’t Jump, The Age of Influence, Jewel Thief, etc. It may or may not be released outside US but as of now, there are no plans to stream the show in other countries.
The series is executive produced by Rashida Jones, Gus Hickey, Jordan Reddout, and Zakiya Dalila Harris who have also written the screenplay of the series with Kara Brown and Angela Nissel. Some first look images have been exclusively released at Entertainment Weekly.

What is the Other Black Girl series about?
The series is based on Zakiya Dalilla’s bestselling novel on the same name that follows Nella (Sinclair Daniel), a powerful black woman working at a reputed publishing firm in NYC but there’s one problem, she’s the only African-American woman working there.
She’s feeling exotic while working in a herd of white employees but as the company hires another black woman named Hazel (Ashleigh Murray), Nella gets a sigh of relief but not for so long.
Everything seems okay at first but as Hazel got so many promotions without doing anything, Nella realized that something fishy is going on at the company. Moreover, Nella started receiving anonymous notes to leave her job.
While Hazel appears harmless at first, she does has evil side who might be forcing Nella to leave the Wagner books but she since Nella has no clue about that, she can’t put allegations on her. She has to take an action or she will be thrown out of the company by Hazel, if she’s behind those threatening notes.
The plot of the series is full of suspense and thriller. If you are looking to watch a good black comedy with a mix of thrill then you should watch The Other Black Girl series, this will give you goosebumps.
