Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is an upcoming film of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise that has been stuck in the production hell since last five years.
Based on Walt Disney’s theme park and the 1987 historical fiction novel on the same name by Tim Powers, the film follows the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow and his companion Elizabeth Swann.
The fantasy swashbuckler film series has been produced by Jerry Bruckheimer under Walt Disney Pictures and JBF productions for Disney.
Is Pirates of the Caribbean 6 confirmed?
Yes, Pirates of the Caribbean 6 was officially confirmed by Disney in 2018. It was announced that there will be a sixth installment of the Pirates film franchise.
And finally, after months of no news, producer Jerry has updated that some familiar faces are returning in POTC 6 with lots of new unfamiliar ones.
Ted Elliott has been assigned once again as the screenwriter(1-4, 6) along with Craig Mazin(HBO’s miniseries Chernobyl).
Moreover, the producer has also revealed that they are working on two scripts. Out of which, one script involves Margot Robbie while other script works without her.
Most likely, the script involving the actress will be adapted into the original movie.
Will Johnny Depp return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?
I hate to say that Johnny Depp will not be seen in the role of swashbuckler Captain Jack Sparrow in POTC 6. Some other actor will be assigned to play the respective but who can replace Johnny Depp as Captain?
Literally, no one. If they will make a new POTC without Depp then it will be like making a car without an engine. Fans are happy with the news that a new film of the pirates is finally in progress but are going crazy with the news that there is no Johnny Depp in it.
More than 877k people have signed the petition on Change.org to bring Depp back and is still running. The Hollywood star shared that he is feeling betrayed from the place he has worked hard for but the producer didn’t ruled out the involvement of the actor in the movie at that point.
During the defamation trial with Amber Heard, Depp revealed that he wanted to give a proper goodbye to the legendary character but things didn’t work that way. There were rumors that Disney is planning to bring Depp back into the film series by offering $300 Million.
However, Depp’s spokesperson made it clear that the thing was made up and Johnny Depp would not work with Disney again even if they offer that much money right now.
When is Pirates of the Caribbean 6 coming out?
Five years have been passed since the official renewal announcement was made by Disney and still we don’t have much information about the upcoming movie. Even though, producer Bruckheimer posted an update regarding the film’s production in May 2022, it doesn’t reveal anything about Pirates of the Caribbean 6 release date.
POTC: The Curse of Black Pearl was released in 2003, second movie POTC: Dead Man’s Chest premiered in 2006, third film POTC: At World’s End in 2007, fourth film POTC: On Stranger Tides in 2011, and the fifth movie POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales was released in 2017.
The original network hasn’t updated any information regarding the release date of Pirates of Caribbean 6 but we can expect it to be released around 2024 since the movie is under production in Sep 2022. POTC 6 might also take longer to arrive because two scripts are in progress.
The showrunners have proven their expertise with the introduction of POTC film series 20 years ago and possibly the sixth film will be released on the 20th anniversary of the franchise like Now You See Me 3.

It will be really sad to see the movie in the absence of our cunning Captain Jack and even some fans prefer to not watch any new movie that doesn’t feature our beloved captain. Fans become outrageous on removing Johnny back and now it’s his choice.
Rumors has it that Dwayne Johnson will be introduced in the sixth film to replace Johnny Depp in the lead role. The Rock is excellent actor but fans don’t want this to happen.
What will happen in Pirates of Caribbean Sea 6?
The sixth movie will progress in completely different timeline instead of continuing the journey of Captain Jack Sparrow because he is no longer a part of the franchise. However, we might see some flashback scenes from Dead Men Tell No Tales and other movies featuring our beloved captain.
Will Turner role will be crucial in the film as his rival Jack Sparrow will be missing and he has to find another comrade to test his skills and become a good pirate. Probably, that strong character role will be played by Dwayne Johnson.
It’s been five years since the ship has been moving and threads hanging in the air and this seems to be the best time to untangle those threads and sail the ship towards North. Since the same screenwriter and producer are working together, we can expect to see a mind-boggling story.
