Based on a 2017 best-selling German novel Dem Horizont so nah by Jessica Koch, the film draws its inspiration from true events.
Jessica (Luna Wedler) is an 18-year old girl who falls in love with a handsome kickboxer named Danny Taylor (Jannik Schümann) without knowing his dark past.
When Danny appears strong and resilient from outside, he is a traumitized person from deep inside who is still fighting the uncurable disease that he received from his father. Along with Jannik and Luna, several famous actors are starring in the supportive roles as Luise Befort.
The film has been produced by Kristina Lobbert under Pantaleon Films and Studiocanal while the distribution is done by Studiocanal in Germanyand M2 Pictures in Italy.
