Historical drama series fans are eagerly waiting for Bridgerton season 2 release date. Even though, a second, third, and a fourth season is confirmed but an official release date is yet to be announced by Netflix. The regency romance drama premiered first on December 25, 2020 on Netflix with a total of eight episodes and reached a viewership of 82 million households that are enough to make it included in the list of most watched shows of Netflix. Moreover, these numbers make this series No. 1 in more than 70 countries on Netflix.
Will there be a season 2 of Bridgerton?
Yes, there will be a season 2 of Bridgerton as Netflix has renewed the series for a second season. Additionally, the series has been renewed for two more seasons according to Deadline. Now, there will be season 3 and season 4 too for the period drama. Bridgerton season 2 is under production and is expected to be release on April 2022 on Netflix.

The filming began in March 2021 and still ongoing in September 2021. It takes nearly 9 months to shoot a complete season 1 and if Bridgerton season 2 follows the same pattern then filming will be wrapped up in November. Considering, post production period and additional works after the filming, we can expect season 2 premiere in the second half of 2022.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Simone Ashley is joining Bridgerton season 2 cast as Kate Sharma(love interest of Anthony) along with four new characters. Charithra Chandran as Edwina, younger sister of Kate who helps her elder sister to find the true love. Shelley Conn as Lady Mary, mother of Kate and Edwina. Rupert Young(from Dear Evan Hansen) as Jack, the man who is having connections to most notable families. Calam Lynch as Theo Sharpe who is a hardworking printer’s assistant.
Sadly, Regen Jean Page will not return to reprise his role as Simon Basset because his role is finished in season 1. However, his wife Daphne is included in season 2 cast so she will be returning. On the other hand, Ben Miller’s character as Baron was murdered in the finale episode of season 1 so he will not return.
What happens in Bridgerton season 2 episode 1?
The first season shows the romance between Daphne and Simone and finally the season ended with a happy marriage. Simon will not there in the second season but Daphne is going to play a remarkable role in the upcoming season. She and Anthony shares a good bond and more can be revealed in season 2. The eldest Featherington sibling who is determined to fulfil his familial duties and will fall in love with Kate Sharma. This season will be more dramatic than the first one. We also get to see how Eloise reacts on perceiving the true identity of Penelope as Lady Whistledown.
