King Richard is an American bio drama movie directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, written by Zach Baylin, produced by Tim White, Will Smith, and Trevor White. The story follows the real life story of an American tennis coach and the father of Venus and Serena Williams which inspire the world to pursue their dreams. It was theatrically released on 19 November 2021 under Warner Bros Pictures. Also, the movie released on the HBO MAX streaming service on the same day. King Richard was filmed inside California, United States. The actual filming began in January 2020 but was paused in March 2020 due to rising cases of Covid-19 pandemic all around the territory. Later, the filming resumed on October 2020 and finally wrapped up on Mid-December 2020, Deadline reported.
Most of the filming took place in Los Angeles, CA. Burbank Tennis Center was also featured in the city of Burbank along with Claremont Club situated at 1777 Monte Vista Avenue in Clemont. Other than that, city of Compton is another place that has been shown in the film where Serena and Venus spent their childhood.
Orange County’s Racquet Club of Irvine can be seen in the film, the fitness facility is situated at 5 Ethel Coplen Way. Some scenes were reportedly filmed in and around Inland Empire, the metropolitan place lies in Southern part of California that shares border with LA.
