The 2023 Roku original holiday movie ‘How to Fall in Love By Christmas’ (also known as ‘How to Fall in Love By the holidays’ in the USA) takes viewers on a festive journey to some beautiful filming sites in Canada.
Produced by Reel One Entertainment, Champlain Media, and CME Winter Productions, the movie follows Nora Winters, a writer-turned-CEO seeking a sponsorship to save her company from going bankrupt. But there’s one hurdle!
She has to craft a super engaging column about falling in love before Christmas with a charming local photographer Jack Paxton. Will she able to get the contract while keeping her romance with Paxton?

How to Fall in Love By Christmas was filmed in Ontario, Canada.
Principal photography for the movie occurred in began on June 20, 2023 and wrapped after 11 days on July 1, 2023.
Director Michael Kennedy shared an on-set photo while filming a winter night scene in June.
The shooting wrapped on July 1st, director Kennedy wrote, It’s a wrap!!!
Hamilton, Ontario
Most of the scenes of How to Fall in Love By Christmas were filmed on location throughout the city of Hamilton.
Specifically, the production made use of the grand 19th century architecture around Jackson Square including the modern Hamilton City Centre shopping complex, the historic Lister Block building, and the Baroque-style St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church across the street.
The neighborhoods of Durand, Kirkendall and Locke Street offered charming residential street scenes with picturesque Victorian houses bedecked in Christmas lights and decorations.
Production team also shot some scenes inside Dundas, a community and town in Hamilton, nicknamed as the Valley Town because of its topographical location at the bottom of the Niagra Escarpment on the western edge of Lake Ontario.

Toronto, Ontario
Canada’s largest city provided an urban holiday backdrop for the holiday movie.
You might have seen a scene with snow-covered park and the towering Christmas tree in How to Fall in Love By Christmas.
That was filmed right in Toronto!
The cast was spotted filming in Trinity Bellwoods Park in the vibrant Queen Street West neighborhood.
The shops and restaurants along the trendy strip likely stood in for a holiday market.
Director Michael also utilized the Evergreen Brick Works, a former brick factory turned multi-use attraction, for its industrial holiday party setting.
The Distillery District offered cobblestone streets lined with perfectly preserved 19th century buildings ideal for a festive Christmas village scene.
Niagara Region, Ontario
Remember that breathtaking scene overlooking a frozen waterfall? That wasn’t a movie trick!
The iconic and festively-lit 176-foot high Horseshoe Falls was utilized by the crew members to shoot all the waterfall scenes that you will find in How to Fall in Love By Christmas movie.
No joke, Horseshoe Falls is the largest of the three waterfalls that collectively form Niagra Falls.
Further scenes were filmed against the snow-covered vineyards at wineries along the Niagara Wine Route amid the charming local towns of Niagara-on-the-Lake and St. Catharines.
Some of the recent Ontario productions include Planes Trains and Christmas Trees, Yes Chef Christmas, and Christmas with a Kiss.
