Lifetime’s Christmas at the Chalet sets in Snowmass Village of Colorado, United States but the actual filming was done in the westernmost province of Canada during summer 2023.
Even though, you can see the Aspen Snowmass Ski Resort in the film, that is just a stock footage which was used to give us a feel of being in Colorado.
The film is directed by Lucie Guest, written by Julia Cranney, and produced by Reel One Entertainment in association with Champlain Media, and CMW Horizon Productions.
When and where was Christmas at the Chalet filmed?
The Lifetime holiday movie ‘Christmas at the Chalet’ was filmed in beautiful mountain locations in British Columbia including, White Spirit Lodge and Big White Ski Resort.
Some party scenes also took place in Kelowna, a city on Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley in the southern interior of British Columbia, just an hour away from main shooting location.
Principal filming began on April 19 and wrapped after 12 days on May 2, 2023 according to director Lucie and other cast’s IG.

Actor Dan shared a picture of his front door on the first day of filming Christmas at the Chalet movie at Big White Ski Resort. He wrote in the caption:
The current view out my front door! 😳🥶 An absolute solid block of ice! Wild!
William Dewry, who stars as Eric in the film, also shared a beautiful picture of snow covered mountains on Instagram with the caption,
Not a bad day to spend the day at work. This is it..right here.
The actor also shared a pic on the last day of filming in Kelowna, BC. He wrote:

Kootenay Boundary, British Columbia
The Kootenay Boundary area, officially called the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB), was a major filming site for ‘Christmas at the Chalet.’
Director Lucy shared a picture while taking the shot on her birthday on May 1.
Production team used the Big White Ski Resort, located on the snowy Big White Mountain, to film important ski scenes on the slopes.
Simard posted another pic on the 2nd day of filming showcasing the Big White Mountain.
The luxurious White Spirit Lodge, positioned at the convergence of two main ski runs on Big White, doubled as the Chalet des Neiges where most of the movie takes place, as per IMDb.
This 10,000 square foot lodge has three bedrooms, five bathrooms, spa facilities, a hot tub, a professional kitchen, and mountain views, making it a suitable filming location.
Snowmass Village, Colorado
The film also includes footage of the beautiful Aspen Snowmass Ski Resort in Snowmass Village, Colorado but no real filming was done there.
The Colorado ski resort, known for its postcard views and top-tier amenities, was added to give the movie an authentic American holiday feel.
Viewers can spot stunning mountain backdrops and snowy landscapes throughout the Lifetime movie, thanks to its picturesque filming locales in British Columbia.
So, if you are plannnig to visit the real filming locations of Christmas at the Chalet then you don’t need to spend a dime to visit Colorado as the actual filming was done within British Columbia.
But if you’re a hardcore ski lover and feel like Lex then you should definitely visit Snowmass to satisfy your wanderlust, the mountain view will make you crazy bring out your inner child, but make sure to wear all the safety equipments while diving in.
