On June 25, 2026, Uwe Boll uploaded Citizen Vigilante in its entirety to the film’s official X account. The caption read: “The movie Hollywood doesn’t want you to see.” The post was set to expire after exactly 48 hours, disappearing on June 27 at 10 a.m. ET.

The Production Story
Principal photography began January 27, 2025, in Croatia, with Mathias Neumann as cinematographer. Filming wrapped April 3, 2025, roughly ten weeks on location.
Boll wrote, directed, produced, and co-shot the film himself. Ethan Maniquis handled editing, and Rodolfo Matulich composed the score. With a reported budget of around $2 million, consolidating that many roles into one person explains both how the film got made so fast and why the production quality lands where it does.
Boll estimates the film has earned around $600,000 so far, leaving a gap before it breaks even. A sequel is already in his plans, with a hoped-for release next year.
