Overlord Season 5 is one of the most anticipated season of the dark fantasy isekai anime series whose story moves around a gamer named AINZ.

The anime television series is directed by Naoyuki Ito and written by Yukie Sugawara. It has been adapted from the light novel series of the same name as anime written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin.

Crunchyroll has licensed all available seasons of the Overlord anime and whenever the next season comes out, it will be also released on the anime streaming platform.

Will there be season 5 of Overlord?

Madhouse Studio hasn’t yet officially confirmed that there will be a fifth season of Overlord in the near future. But we can expect to see another season of the series as the team is having numerous valid reasons to renew the series.

There are certain speculations that season 5 will also be the last season of the series because writer Kugane has revealed that the light novel will end with the 17th volume release.

Overlord Season 5 Release Date and Time

Since the team hasn’t yet revealed any information regarding the new season’s production, it will be hard to speculate the release date. Most of the staff and voice cast members are expected to reprise their respective roles.

Season 1 premiered in July 2015, second in Jan 2018, third in July 2018 and season 4 begin premiering in July 2022. Moreover, a film based on the Holy Kingdom arc is also in production which is set to premiere in summer 2023.

Considering the fan buzz, if Overlord S5 is currently under production in Oct 2022 then we can expect it to be released around mid-2024 because team is busy with Overlord: Holy Kingdom movie that will come out first in 2023 before Season 5 release.

The season 5 will probably have more episodes than previous seasons with an average running time of 23 minutes or the series will wrap with 13 usual episodes and one last volume will be adapted into another feature film.

How many volumes are left to adapt?

Currently, there are a total of 16 volumes in circulation. Out of which 13 volumes have been adapted into four seasons and a movie leaving behind 3 volumes to adapt for the finale season of the series as the novel ends after Volume 1.

What will happen in Overlord Season 5?

We will be able to see some other powerful players in the dungeon other than AINZ and this arc will probably reveal the real face of Albedo and other ministers in Overlord Season 5.

The upcoming season is going to be one of most interesting season of the series as the sorcerer kingdom is about to rise or miserably fall in the upcoming chapters.

It will be interesting to see how AINZ Ooal Gown will control his courtiers and make the Baharuth Empire as his ally. He will try to extend a helping hand to other kingdoms and secretly takeover their weapons and hidden knowledge for his own expansion.

However, keeping the common people happy will be the topmost priority of AINZ. He will become the greatest emperor of this gaming world and finally been able to reunite with his friends and family once again in the original world.
