Dead Mount Death Play Season 2 is coming much sooner than expected. The first season of the series concluded with the release of 12th episode on 27 June 2023 and now, we have the second season, that is also set to premiere later in the same year.
Based on a Japanese action manga written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto, Dead Mount is a reverse isekai anime series whose story follows a hero named Shagura Edith Lugrid who is about to defeat a powerful necromancer known as Corpse God but the necromancer uses his unique skill to reincarnate into the modern world as a young boy named Polka Shinoyama who desires to live a peaceful life.
The dark fantasy anime series is directed and co-written by Manabu Ono with Yukie Sugawara, and Yoriko Tomita serving as screenwriters, FMF as the music producer and Geek Toys as the original production studio for the series.
When is Dead Mount Death Play Season 2 coming out?
The second season of Dead Mount Death Play or the second cour of the first season will begin airing in October 2023. It will have 12 new episodes with an average runtime of 23 minutes.
The announcement was made way before the premiere of first episode on 11 April 2023 that the anime series will be released into two cours of 12 episodes each. A new visual has been released on the official website of DMDP that has revealed, the new season will be released as a part of fall 2023 anime broadcast in Japan.
Even though, we have an official release month, Studio Geek Toys didn’t reveal an exact release date for the series but we can expect Dead Mount Death Play Season 2 to arrive in the first week of October 2023 like Mushoku Tensei Season 3, that was released in the first week of July.
Where to watch Dead Mount Death Play Season 2?
All the new episodes of Dead Mount Death Play anime series will air on BS 11, AT-X, Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, and Sun TV inside Japan while in some Asian counties, the latest episodes will be released on Ani-One Asia YouTube Channel.
The series will be streaming on Crunchyroll inside western and EU countries that includes the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, etc. with English subtitles and original Japanese audio. No trailer has been released yet for the upcoming season of the series. Probably, it will be released a month before the actual release of the next season.
Who are the main characters for Dead Mount Death Play Season 2?
Polka and Misaki are the two main characters of the series and they will be seen for sure in Dead Mount Death Play Season 2 along with Takumi Kuruya, Tsubaki Iwanome, Lisa Kuraki, Gozaburo Arase, Rozan Shinoyama, Koyu Azuma, Saki AiKawa, Izuna Ajishiro, and Saya Shinoyama.
Polka is the is the mc of Dead Mount Death Play series and his Japanese voice is given by Yuki Sakakihara and English voice is given by Morgan Berry. Popularly known as Corpse God in magical world, Polka can summon skeletons of different sizes and even revive dead spirits.
Miskai is a young assassin with an odd personality, that’s because she saw the live murder of her family when she was a kid. Her Japanse voice is coming from Inori Minase’s mouth while the English version is dubbed by Bree Han.
What will be the plot of Dead Mount Death Play Season 2?
The first season sets the stage for the main storyline that is about to begin with the 13th episode. Season 1 introduced us with the character of corpse God and highlighted how he become Polka. While on the verge of death, a necromancer uses his special ability to teleport into modern day Japan as a 16-year-old boy named Polka Shinoyama.
However, miseries don’t end in the new world too as his throat has been cut by a mysterious assassin but that doesn’t stop him to live a peaceful and happy life. He stands up with everything he got and settles into the town of Shinjuku where he encounters Misaki, the assassin who slits the throat of Polka.
The Corpse God turns her into a zombie but the girl ends up falling in love with the necromancer, only to increase his problems. That’s all we saw in the first cour, the upcoming story is going to be more interesting and emotional.
