Christmas Made to Order is a 2018 cozy Hallmark holiday movie about an executive assistant who finds love with her boss around the Christmas season.
Directed by Sam Irvin from the screenplay of Matt Marx and Anna White, the Hallmark Channel original movie stars Alexa PenaVega and Jonathan Bennett in the lead roles of Gretchen and Steven.
True to Utah’s magical winter charm, the movie was primarily filmed on location across towns in Northern Utah. Let’s take a closer look at the actual shooting locations.
Christmas Made to Order Filming Locations
Christmas Made to Order was filmed across different locations in the US state of Utah, including Kaysville, Clearfield, Layton, Ogden, and Centerville. The Chantilly Mansion in Layton served as the location for Gretchen’s charming bed and breakfast.
Principal shooting took place in October 2018. We found a bts picture of Jonathan Bennett and Alexa PenaVega.
Kaysville, Utah
The quaint town of Kaysville, Utah, serves as the backdrop for Steven’s home, offering a charming blend of traditional architecture and festive decorations.
Main Street was decorated with festive trimmings to become the ideal small-town backdrop. Other Kaysville landmarks like the Historic City Hall and Kaysville Theatre make brief appearances adding to the holiday feels.
Clearfield, Layton, Ogden and Centerville
Along with Kaysville, the production crew also shot scenes on location in Clearfield, Layton, Ogden and Centerville. Bennett also marked Centerville as his location in an on-set photo.
These Northern Utah towns provided the perfect snow-covered landscapes for showcasing Christmas magic. The houses on wide streets beautifully captured the essence of a Hallmark holiday movie.
Specific sites included Steven’s home decorated with Christmas trimmings and the grand Chantilly Mansion in Layton. Local extras and real Christmas decorations from residents further added to the authenticity.
Alaskan Inn, Ogden
A crucial setting in the movie is the Silverpine Inn owned by Aunt Lindsay. This was actually filmed at the unique Alaskan Inn in Ogden, Utah. Set along the banks of the Ogden River, the inn’s 23 themed cabins and suites made ideal backdrops.
From the signature welcome drinks and chocolates to the rustic Grizzly Bear cottage, viewers are treated to the charming hospitality of a Hallmark-style country inn against Utah’s wintry panoramas.
Utah is a popular filming location among Hallmark filmmakers because Utah Film Commission has made the cinematography easy for producers.
Some of the famous holiday productions that were shot at the same location includes Christmas Under Wraps, Christmas Wonderland, Jingle Belle, The Christmas Bow, A Christmas Wish, Destined at Christmas Sister Swap, The Housewives of the North Pole, etc.
