Sunghoo Park, who has directed one of the most loved anime series named Jujutsu Kaisen is leaving MAPPA after encountering some problems MAPPA Studios have always been known for its high quality animation and iconic characters creation which looks more lifelike rather than original manga or light novels. The studio is always in the headlines because of a lot of controversies going on and this time the news is coming regarding the resignation of an important employee of the studio. Why is Sunghoo Park leaving MAPPA?

Sunghoo Park is leaving MAPPA studios to work on his own production studio named E&H Production that he established in March 2021 while directing the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen and JJK 0 movie.

Now, the director has started working on his own animation house and looking forward to challenge original animation works and production houses with his lucrative environment where humans will be treated like humans. According to reports, Shunghoo intends to take action in a variety of fields like game engines, life shooting, and even VR industry.

E&H Studio will be a good studio, not like Mappa where humans are overburdened with deadlines on the sake of money. This is the harsh reality why Haikyuu season 5 is delayed and numerous members are still leaving MAPPA studio. Nobody wants to fall into the trap of MAPPA right now. Of course,there are some great companies that put a lot of effort into educating their staff**. This is just my personal opinion and experience - I don't know if everyone feels this way - but as far as i can tell, a good 80% of the employees complain about this kind of thing.

But since most of their workers are freelancers, they usually complain about low pay and more workload. Shunghoo was one of the freelancer who didn’t actually work as a full time worker so it doesn’t really matter if he is leaving MAPPA if he leaves or not. The important question is who will direct JJK anime now.

Who will be the director of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2?

Shunghoo Park is expected to return as the director of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 with his own production E&H Studio. Currently, the studio is having eight members and looking for more experienced and focused employees to expand themselves.

Are Madhouse and MAPPA related?

Yes, both the studios(Madhouse and MAPPA) were founded by Masao Maruyama in 2011 but the founder left MAPPA because the board members were getting greedy and overworking their employees. Mappa is literally a Madhouse 2.0.
