As the festive spirit of Christmas begins to permeate the air, Great American Family’s (GAF) new heartwarming movie A Paris Christmas Waltz takes us on a magical journey through the City of Lights.
Directed and co-written by Michael Damian with Janeen Damian (Falling for Christmas), this GAF original serves as a sequel to Hallmark’s The Christmas Waltz (2020) that follows a professional dancer Leo, who is slowly losing interest in dance but as he met Emma, he got an opportunity to prove himself.
The romance drama film has been produced by Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA) and Sage Sound Studios. Amy Krell, Brad Krevoy, Jimmy Townsend, and Lorenzo Nardini are executive producers.
A Paris Christmas Waltz Filming Locations
The GAF original movie A Paris Christmas Waltz was shot on location in Paris, France and Bucharest, Romania as per the official reports.
Paris, France
A Paris Christmas Waltz was primarily filmed in the heart of Paris. Iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Seine River provide a romantic backdrop for the Christmas tale.
Key scenes were shot on location at Luxembourg Gardens, one of the most famous public parks in Paris. The beautiful pathways, fountains, statues, and trees create the perfect Parisian setting. Other notable filming sites included the historic Place de la Concorde and the charming Rue Cler open air market.
The production crew took full advantage of the cinematic streets of Paris to film pivotal scenes for Paris Christmas Waltz. Viewers can experience the magic of Paris at Christmastime along with the characters. Joyeux Noel was also shot on the same location.
Bucharest, Romania
In addition to Paris, filming for A Paris Christmas Waltz also took place in Bucharest, Romania. Certain indoor scenes that were meant to be in Paris were actually filmed on a studio lot in Bucharest.
With its old European architecture and ambience, Bucharest makes for a convincing stand-in for Paris. The production crew was able to recreate classic Parisian interiors without having to completely film on location in France.
Bucharest offered the filming crew of A Paris Christmas Waltz cost savings and logistical advantages for key indoor scenes. And viewers are none the wiser that some scenes meant to be in Paris were actually filmed in a studio in Romania.
