Review
This doc followed a bunch of teen girls from Missouri as they built their own government from scratch at this Girls State program. It was like “The West Wing” meets high school summer camp.
There’s this one girl, Stacey, who’s super passionate and charismatic. You can’t help but root for her. But then there’s also Alice, who seems more strategic and kind of reminds me of those ambitious student council types.
The coolest part? They expose some double standards between the boys’ and girls’ programs. Like, seriously? The boys get to roam around shirtless while the girls gotta worry about dress codes? Ugh.
Overall, this documentary is eye-opening. It shows how young women are tackling politics and what the future might hold. Definitely recommend it if you want to see some inspiring Gen Z ladies in action!
It’s inspiring, emotional, and a must-watch for anyone who wants to see what the future of politics could look like with some strong, young women at the helm.
