That detail shows just how well the area suited the tone and look the show was going for. The coastal villages near Halifax carry the same kind of weathered charm that viewers associate with small towns along the Maine coast.

Behind The Scenes
The production was demanding by any standard. The show was filmed over several months in Nova Scotia, with 17-hour shooting days in cold weather, testing the entire cast and crew’s dedication to the project.
Brooke Shields spoke warmly about her time there despite the tough conditions. She said the whole crew was amazing and that she loved filming in Nova Scotia. Shields also served as an executive producer on the series, which gave her a deeper connection to the production than a typical acting role would.

Shields collaborated again with showrunner Robin Bernheim, the creator of the 2024 Netflix romantic comedy Mother of the Bride, which Shields also starred in.
