The Valet is a 2022 American rom com film directed by Richard Wong from the screenplay written by Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg, and produced by Eugenio Derberz and Ben Odell under Lionsgate and 3Pas Studios.
It serves as the direct sequel to stars Eugenio Derbez and Samara Weaving in the main roles of Antonio and Olivia who pretends to be a fake couple to prevent their badmouthed publicity but things went wrong when rumors spread that the couple has slept together. The movie has been released on Hulu inside USA, Star+ in Latin America & Brazil), and internationally on Disney+.
Where was The Valet filmed?
Even though, the romance comedy film sets in Beverly Hills, California, the actual filming didn’t took place at the same place. The Valet was entirely filmed inside Atlanta, Georgia during mid 2021. Filming began in March 2021 and wrapped up within the same year in July.
Most of the filming was done within Fayetteville. Jackson Street Bridge and The Georgian Terrance were also utilized for the filming purposes.
In Sep 2014, it was announced that Eugenio Derbez will produce and cast in 2006 French film The Valet remake by Francis Veber. Maleo Londono was hired as the cinematographer in March 2021 and the filming began within the same month.
Richard Wong was announced to direct the film from the screenplay by Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg. The remaining cast members were announced in April 2021 while the filming was in progress. In July 2021, the film was pushed to post production.
Atlanta is famous for shooting various superhero TV series like Naomi, DMZ, Love is Blind, The Lost City, Sweet Magnolias, Joe Millionaire, etc. Pinewood Atlanta Studios is the prominent filming location for most of the TV shows and movies and the directors keep on booking the same place again and again.
The reason is simple, the CGI animation and magical scenes are possible with the ideal studio environment and that’s why the place become the first love for graphical films makers. But for this film, the true nature of Atlanta was used for the shooting purposes.

Synopsis
A Valet parking attendant accidentally appears in a paparazzi photo with a popular female movie star and her married lover who asked the valet to pretend like the woman’s boyfriend to cover up the reporters arguments.

- This is the last film for Carmen Salinas who died in December 2021, the movie is dedicated to her memory.
Review
The movie plot is similar to the old 2006 French Film but the cinematography and editing is done well this time. At first, you will find a silly story but as the story progresses, the hilarious scenes begin to appear and the movie seems magnetic. The prominent part about this movie is that, it’s not over depressing or over funny. It is well balanced in terms of emotions.
If you have watched Marry Me then you will probably relate. Olivia and Antonia can be a great couple but somehow they just couldn’t. Even Antonia’s wife for whom he was doing all the hard work filed divorce against him. However, Antonia is the most inspirational character of the film who hasn’t learn how to give up. The Valet works hard and get what he wants.
