Directed and screenplay by Adam Nee and Aaron Nee along with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox, The Lost City is a 2022 adventure thriller movie that follows the story of a female romance novelist named Seth (Sandra Bullock) who goes on a book tour to get promote her latest book but gets stuck with her cover model Alan(Channing Tantum) until a tech billionaire kidnapped her.
Seth ends up in the searching of the real lost city along with Farifax (Daniel Radcliffe) who is obsessed with her novels and believe the city to be real. Let’s find out where was the filming took place.
The Lost City Filming Locations
The Lost City was filmed in The Dominican Republic, but most of the filming was done within the town of Samaná. According to IMDb, the shooting began in early May 2021 and wrapped on 16 August 2021.
Samaná, Dominican Republic
Samana is located in the northeastern Dominican Republic and is, popularly known as the main center for whale watching tours in the whole Caribbean region.
Santa Bárbara de Samaná is the largest municipality of the province. The place is a popular attraction among tourists since most of its area of is covered with beautiful hills encloses with plain.
Some of the filming was also done in Casa de Campo, Santa Domingo, and Dominican Republic Studios. It is not official but we found some scenes were shoot inside Monte Plata Province right before the beginning of shooting at Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios.
The film studio used in the film is actually the branch of Pinewood Studios, a London based private company whose Atlanta branch is quite famous as the shooting location of LOKI, Ms Marvel, Zombieland Double Tap, Spiderman No Way Home, Antman and the Wasp, The Suicide Squad, Love is Blind, Moon & Me, etc.
