The new Lifetime movie ‘The Holiday Proposal Plan’ takes us through the charming snow-covered streets and locales of Big Bear Lake, a small city in California’s San Bernardino County.
Directed and written by Jake Helgren, the Christmas romance movie follows travel columnist Sunny Kravitz as she returns to her hometown with her ex-boyfriend Kip to help their best friends get engaged. But as they spend time together amidst the festive cheer, Sunny and Kip may just rekindle their own romance.
The film is produced by Autumn Federici and Jake Helgren (A Cowboy Christmas Romance) under The Ninth House Productions for Lifetime Television (US) and Nicely Entertainment (worldwide). Vanessa Shapiro is the executive producer and Kristifor Cvijetic is line producer.

The city’s two popular ski resorts, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, provide stunning snow-covered vistas as backdrops.
While it is unconfirmed if the cast and crew utilized these resorts for filming, the snowy streets and cozy cafés of Big Bear Lake definitely stand in for an idyllic holiday town on screen.
You would surely recognize popular spots dressed up in fairy lights and Christmas cheer to set the scene. Who knows – while you’re there, you may even spot filming locations featured in the Lifetime movie!

Director Jake Helgren raved about the filming experience on social media, describing it as a “winter ‘summer camp'” for the team. He wrote,
“It’s rare when you feel as happy onset as what you see happening in the film, but I can honestly say we were having as much fun onset as what you’ll see in this film.”
Helgren went on to thank the “beautiful and insanely talented cast and crew” for making such special memories while shooting ‘The Holiday Proposal Plan’ in the icy surroundings of Big Bear Lake.

Helsin shared his wonderful filming experience with Lifetime TV. He wrote:
