The TikTok influencer has built up an army of over 17 million loyal followers through his hilarious videos and after self-releasing three wildly popular stand-up specials on YouTube, including “Only Fans” and “Walking Red Flag”, Rife is finally getting the mainstream validation he deserves.

Scoring this Netflix special is a massive achievement for any comedian, but especially rewarding for Rife after all the blood, sweat and tears he poured into producing his DIY YouTube projects.

Variety has confirmed that Matt Rife’s comedy special Natural Selection was filmed at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The special filmed from multiple camera angles on the ground and from above to cover the huge venue.

Filming took place over the course of two nights on September 22 and 23 at the venue, reported by Deadline. Even though, the actual filming took place for two days, the post-production work took another 2 days to complete.

The show was filmed in front of a live-audience like other Netflix specials as Baby J, Selective Outrage, Bill Burr Live at Red Rocks, Brian Regan on the Rocks, etc.

However, out of all those stand-up comedians, Matt Rife is the youngest with 28-years of age and the level of his humor is good that, he lives ahead of his time.

Rife posted on Sep 25, that Natural Selection has been wrapped, while talking about post production.

Eric Griffin, the director for Rife’s comedy special dropped another BTS video on his Instagram on the next day.

He shared his experience during the shooting while with the behind the scene photos, taken during the editing.

Griffin, along with his team of editors can be seen bringing all the best scenes together during post-production work.
