Dear Zoe is an American family drama film directed by Gren Wells from the screenplay of Marc Lhormer, Melissa Martin and the original YA novel author Philip Beard.
With Sadie Sink starring in the lead role, the movie follows a teenage girl named Tesse whose relationship with her family has been strained since the death of her half-sister Zoe.

What is the movie about?
Sets in 2000s, the movie tells the story of a 15-year-old girl named Tess who is coping with the death of her elder sister Zoe by writing letters to her. Her sister falls prey to the series of terrorist attacks on 9/11 while returning to her home.
Tess is heartbroken and decides to move on to her father’s house on the wrong side of the tracks to escape from her mother’s grief. In the journey of recovery, the girl forms a sweet relationship with her father a neighbor boy who later gets caught for selling drugs.

Dear Zoe is a low budget film developed by Brenda and Marc Lhormer. The creators saved the money by shooting the film in their hometown in Pittsburgh and the elementary school that they attended as a kid.
Lhormers are experienced filmmakers known for producing ‘Bottle Shock’ and founding the Napa Valley Film Festival. This movie explores the themes of grief, redemption, and afternath of a family tragedy.
Critics have praised the coming-of-age film for it’s emotional storyline and the performances of all cast members has also been praised especially Sadie Sink (Stranger things) and Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy actor).
