Tokyo Ghoul Season 5 is not yet announced by the original creators but who knows the dark fantasy anime series gets a renewal soon. The supernatural thriller anime television series is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida in the weekly young Jump magazine. First two seasons were directed by Shuhei Morita and written by Chūji Mikasano, music was given by Yutaka Yamada, and production was done under Pierrot Studios.

There will be no season 5 of Tokyo Ghoul anime because Tokyo Ghoul Season 4 was the last season of the franchise that marks an end of Ken’s story. The anime concluded with the 179 Chapter in 2018 which serves as the last chapter of the original manga series. Since, there is no manga material left to continue the story, there will be no new season for the Tokyo Ghoul.

However, nothing is possible in this world of possibilities. Who knows Sui Ishida can pull out another story with a new volume. Even though, the chances of new season are pretty slim as the last manga volume was published back in 2018 but we can still hopeful for Tokyo Ghoul Season 5.

It has been four years since the latest volume and season was released. So, the chances of renewal looks negligible but still the series can be revived for another installment if new volumes become available in the future just like Tokyo Revengers Season 2.

How many seasons of Tokyo Ghoul anime are available?

Season 1 premiered in July 2014 and season 2 in 2015. Then, Tokyo Ghoul: Re released in 2018 that ran for two seasons with a total of 24 episodes. In total, there are four seasons of Tokyo Ghoul franchise.

English Dubbed versions of all four seasons are streaming on Funimation inside the United States. Three seasons are also available to stream via Crunchyroll and Hulu. Funimation owned the streaming rights of the series inside North America, Medialink in South East Asia, and Madman Entertainment in Australasia.

It follows the story of a student named Ken Kaneki who somehow saved himself from the ghoul who tries to eat him at his date but still her turned into a half ghoul. Now, he has to consume human flesh like other ghouls if he wants to survive but at the same time he needs to hide his identity from his human companions.
