Guardians of the Galaxy 3 or we should say, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is another successful superhero action film of 2023 based on Marvel Comics.
The action comedy movie has grossed $678.5 Million on box office and has become the second highest grossing film of 2023 against a budget of $250 Million.
With Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) in the lead role of Peter Quill, Guardians of the Galaxy franchise moves around a group of intergalactic criminals who come together to stop a fanatic warrior who has sinister plans to purge this universe.
A third film of the franchise Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has recently started premiering in cinemas worlwide since it’s world premiere on 5 May 2023 but when will it be available for streaming?
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Streaming Release Date Announced
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is confirmed to release on Disney+ on 2 August 2023. The second highest grossing film of 2023 made its grand debut on 5 May 2023 inside the world cinemas and grossed $842.4 Million on box office.
We were speculating that a streaming release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 movie 2023 won’t be before August 2023 because a 45-day theatrical window is mandatory for all the MCU films like, we saw with Spiderman, Iron Man, and even Avengers movie.
And the comic based movie was speculated to be release for Disney+ subscribers in the future and finally, we have an official date.
However, Black Widow (2021 movie) was released on cinemas and Disney+ on the same day sparking outrage among Scarlett Johansson’s fans.
Moreover, Johansson filed a lawsuit for the simultaneous release, which was settled a couple of months later. So, the network learned an important lesson, they won’t do it ever again.
About Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is the third film of the franchise directed and written by James Gunn for Marvel Studios.
Gunn said in 2014 that he had initial ideas to end the franchise with a third film and he was announced to return as director and screenwriter in 2017 but later on in July 2018, Disney fired him for his controversial twitter posts.
However, Gunn was brought back by the studios two months later in October and it was officially confirmed that the production of movie is resuming in March 2019.
Till that period of time, Gunn has successfully directed other Disney films as Suicide Squad (2021) and Peacemaker (2022).
Kevin Feige was assigned as the producer for the threequel with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Nathan Fillon, and Sylvester Stallone in the lead roles.
The film premeired at Disneyland Paris on 22 April 2023 and was released inside the United States on 5 May 2023 as a part of MCU Phase Five.
When will Guardians of the Galaxy 3 be released on Disney+?
The finale Guardians of the Galaxy movie will begin streaming on Disney+ on August 2 inside the United States. Moreover, you can look to other MCU productions like Ant and the Wasp: Quantumania, Thor: Love and Thunder, The Flash, Mission Impossible, and Black Panther, all took nearly three months to release on Disney+ after their theatrical run.
Since the film is still topping the cinema charts and going aggresively on box office, it is predicted to surpass Super Mario Bros movie that touched $1 Billion mark and Guardians of the Galaxy movies have a good history of breaking records on box office.
So, we won’t be surpised if that breaks another record. Meanwhile, it has already become the second highest grossing film of the year 2023.
