The Watcher is the name of a mystery Television series created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the true crime series is creating buzz all around the United States since its original premiere on Netflix on 13 Oct 2022.
It is slowly becoming one of the most watched true horror series after recently released Dahmer that is breaking all the records with a solid 8.1 rating on IMDb.
The same is happening with Watcher as most of the critics are praising the series for its originality and covering everything in detail.
Yes, there are some fictional scenes that are added to the series to look more spicier but most of the things are factual.
True Story of Watcher
The miniseries is based on a 2018 New York Magazine article published by Reeves Wiedeman that highlights the major details attached to the The Watcher House Locations and its sinister connection with the Broaddus family.
Their life was turned into a living hell after purchasing the house in 2014 from the Woodses, the retired scientists who were living at the place for since November 1990.
The whole thing begins in May 2014 when John and Andrea Woods receives a thank you letter from “The Watcher” for taking care of his house. Broadduses close the deal on 2 June 2014 to purchase the house from the Woodses.
On 5 June 2014, the newly shifted Broaddus family got their first anonymous letter where the author was showing his obsession with the house.
When Maria asked Woodses about the suspected person behind the letter, they replied that they have received a similar one earlier but they didn’t take that seriously. Fast forward to today, the house is owned by Andrew and Allison Carr and they are good with the property.
Who is The Watcher?
Even after so much investigation, the identity of Watcher is still anonymous. Nobody knows about the stalker who was sending hateful and threatening messages to the Broaddus family.
The person behind Watcher is still a mystery today and no information is available regarding his/her identity. However, the new family doesn’t seem to have any problem in tackling with the house problems or they don’t have any.
