It’s not that zero filming was done in Italy but only a few scenes were taped in Portofino because it’s a famous travelling destination where tourists come across the globe. So, filming is not easy there but the team got some time to open cameras in Portofino and cover Castello Brown, Lighthouse Portofino, Piazza Martiri Dell’Olivetta, and the Chiesa del Divo Martino church.

Birmingham Live reported that a Croatian villa built in 1904 on the Lungomare promenade, Opatija was utilized for filming most of the villa scenes. It looks authentic to travellers as Italian riviera.

Opatija is a coastal town and a municipality of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Western Croatia. The town is located on the Kvarner Gulf by the Adriatic sea and is known for its historic buildings. Angiolina Park, the town of Lovran and Opatija’s small harbour have been featured in the series.

Some scenes were also shot inside the capital city of Zagreb, Lovran, Matulji, and Istria.

Synopsis

An Italian British period drama series sets in the 1920s Italy when the Benito Mussolini’s branded fascism was on the rise inside Southern Europe. The series tells the story of matriarch Bella who wants to open her famous hotel for wealthy English travelers.

As the series progresses, she struggles to fulfill the demands of her demanding guests and faces backlash from her husband. Moreover, she receives criticism from a local fascist politician.

Will Bella be able to fight against the local politician and convince her husband or she will close her hotel in fear?
