The 2024 Hallmark romance movie A Taste of Love takes us to the quaint beach town of Dunedin, FL through its filming locations.
Directed by Michael E Brown and Conrad De La Torres III, the movie stars Erin Cahill as a Network TV star struggling to find her culinary voice.
When she visits her parents, she must choose between her renewed relationship, saving her family restaurant, or her dream to become a well-known chef.
A Taste of Love Filming Locations
A Taste of Love was filmed on location in the beach town of Dunedin, Florida over the course of three weeks in July and August of 2021.
Principal shooting began in July 13 and wrapped on August 2, 2021, as per reports. The production team captured Dunedin’s essence under the direction of writer-directors Conrad De La Torres III and Michael E. Brown.
The Tampa-based independent film company Digital Caviar headed up the shoot, and filmed at several iconic Dunedin locations, including Sea Siders Restaurant, Wild Iris Cafe, and Edgewater Park.
Sea Riders Restaurant, Dundurn, FL
Located on the waterfront in Edgewater Park, the restaurant has been serving fresh local seafood in Dunedin for 30 years.
With al fresco dockside dining and fresh seafood dishes, Sea Riders boasts stellar views overlooking the Gulf sunsets.
In the movie A Taste of Love, the restaurant is owned by Taylor and his father Glenn. Scenes depict Taylor sorting out the finances and trying to find ways to draw in more customers as she adjusts to her new life managing the restaurant.
Rooftop Lounge at the Fenway Hotel
The elegant rooftop lounge HiFi at the Fenway Hotel provides sweeping vistas showcasing downtown Dunedin’s charm.
It served as the perfect spot for hosting events and parties in the movie like Taylor’s launch of the restaurant’s new menu. The lounge’s chic ambiance added to the celebratory tone.

Wild Iris Cafe, Dundurn, Florida
Another popular eatery in downtown Dunedin is Wild Iris Cafe, it also gets some cameo scenes as well in A Taste of Love. The cafe is known for freshly baked bread, unique sandwiches, salads, and pastries.
Edgewater Park
In addition to Sea Riders Restaurant, Edgewater Park and its spectacular sunsets are prominently featured throughout A Taste of Love. Taylor often retreats to the park to think and gain inspiration for saving the restaurant.
She also shares romantic moments with the sous chef character Glenn in this peaceful setting while the two bond over food, family, and new beginnings.
Behind The Scenes
The relaxing vibe seems to have left an impression on some of them too, based on social media posts dreaming of returning one day not for work but for a vacation!
Jesse Kove cherished the rare opportunity to screen the movie for the wonderful local community that hosted the production.
She wrote in an Instagram post:
“It’s such a special thing to be able to be there at a premiere live with the audience and share it with them and not everybody gets to be able to do that.
So it’s one of the best parts of what we do is to be able to experience that with the audience members.”
Lead actress Erin Cahill said:
“Dunedin, it is one of the most beautiful places. It’s right on the water. Everywhere you look is aesthetically pleasing. The movie is that much more beautiful for having been shot here.”
She also said:
“It felt almost like coming home in a certain way because it became a home to us so it felt like seeing our cousins almost but then also meeting a whole bunch of new people. So it really was a huge gift to experience them witness it.”
Longtime Florida resident Susan Gallagher said,
“It’s the most charming little beachside community that I know of. It’s kinda like the best kept secret in Florida.”
For Gallagher, filming in her home state provided a career highlight after over 30 years as a working actor in Florida.
“Seeing a lot of my friends because most of the actors in the movie besides the main cast are based in Florida and I’ve known them over 30 years.”
Martin Kove Makes a Surprising Turn
Martin Kove plays leading lady Erin Cahill’s endearing father in A Taste of Love. Best known for playing the antagonist John Kreese in The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai, Kove shows his impeccable comedic timing in his first romantic comedy role.
“My genre is the old west so I’m like, what am I entertaining? When I got here, the chemistry just instantly cooked.
And the humor played well because the script was written pretty well…The vulnerability is something I enjoy playing and the fun of acting and laughing and giggling like we did.
Planning to visit Dunedin after watching A Taste of Love
Hallmark fans eager to plan their own taste of Dunedin after seeing A Taste of Love can explore these iconic filming locations showcased in the movie.
Dunedin is a fun small town by the beach in Florida. It has a nice main road with shops and eat places. You can also go to a place that makes beer there.
The best thing is the bridge that goes over the water to Honeymoon Island State Park.
At the park, you can play in the ocean, look for pretty seashells, or just sit and relax. The sand feels good and the water is warm, especially in the spring and summer.
Dunedin is a great place to go if you want a beach trip in Florida without too many people.
While there, you should eat some grouper fish from the seafood restaurants.
You can also go to the Dunedin Marina and park, see a movie at the cool old theater, or watch baseball at the stadium where major league players practice.
