Directed by Peter Hutchings, The Hating Game is an American romantic drama whose story is based on the 2016 novel of the same name written by Sally Thorne. It moves around an ambitious young woman named Lucy who wants to achieve huge success without compromising her moral values, she works in the publishing house and wants to climb the success ladder but the only thing that is coming in her way is her nemesis, Joshua. This begins a sweet chase for promotion and a rivalry begins between the two, they feels attraction towards each other in the race and office places but where was the places located that were featured in the film?

The Hating Game movie was filmed entirely in New York, United States. The principal filming began on Nov 21, 2020 and wrapped up on 23 Dec 2020 covering almost 4 weeks. Upstate, Kingston, and NYC were featured in the film that was also seen in Resort to Love, Vh1 Couple’s Retreat, etc.
Upstate New York is a region lying north of the metropolitan area where some winter scenes were shot, Lucy Hale shared at the time of filming. The Catskill Mountains, Little Falls, Pocantico River, and Finger Lakes has been also featured in the movie. Some scenes of Lucy and Joshua travelling were shot in Kingston, although the place is famous for its landmark churches. New York City Bridge is shown in 2 or 3 scenes.
