The 2024 Lifetime movie Killing for Extra Credit takes us on a scenic tour of the beautiful Okanagan Valley in southern British Columbia, as two besties search for an anonynous social media account, responsible for leaking their high school secrets.

Directed by Paula Elle from the screenplay of Leo McGuigan, the thriller drama film stars Matreya Scarrwener Robins as a troubled teen, who along with her best friend, looking to unmask the mysterious social media account, that is posting blind items about her scandals.

Brian Brough and Brittany Wiscombe have produced the film under CMW Horizon Productions (Christmas at the Chalet), and the worldwide distrbution is done under Reel One Entertainment & Lifetime Television inside the United States.

Killing for Extra Credit was filmed around Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada over a period of two months. Principal shooting began in July 2023 and wrapped in August 2023, as per Actra reports.

Although filming was interrupted by wildfires in the West Kelowna, the crew persevered and wrapped production by the end of August in the same year. The wildfires forced 30,000 people to leave their homes, as per CBC report.
