Avatar 2 The Way of Water was released in US cinemas on 15 December 2022 and now it has started streaming on Disney+.
Directed and produced by James Cameron, the epic science fiction film is coming to Disney’s streaming service after 173 days of its theatrical debut.
The film was a major box office success that grossed $2.32 Billion worldwide to become the highest grossing film of 2022, and third highest grossing movie of all time.
This helped Zoe Saldana in achieving the feat that no one in the film industry has ever achieved. She become the first and only actress to star in the top 3 highest grossing films of all time.
How to watch Avatar 2?
Avatar 2 or Avatar: The Way of Water has been released on 7 June 2023 on Disney+ and MAX inside the United States. The release timings are different internationally as follows:

If you don’t want to subscribe to any of the streaming service then there’s also an option of renting it from VOD platforms like VUDU, Amazon, Microsoft Store, Redbox, Apple TV, or Fandango.
You can either the purchase or rent the movie from the above on-demand platforms or enjoy streaming without any delay on Disney+ and MAX. While MAX is only available for US viewers, Disney+ is available all over the world.
When is Avatar 2 Blu-ray coming out?
Avatar 2 will be released in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D, and DVD on 20 June 2023 inside the United States. While in UK, it will be released on 26 June.
Currently, Walmart is accepting pre-orders for the film while Amazon hasn’t listed any physcial media releases or pre-order at this time but that will surely come on Amazon marketplace in the near future.
So, you need to checkout the DVD on Amazon before making your purchase. Maybe, it will be cheaper as compared to its rival Walmart or vice versa. If you live in UK, you need to check the HMV website.
Is Avatar The Way of Water worth watching?
Even though, the whole film is filled with heartfilling moments, there are scenes that are worth watching thousand times.
No matter whether you have watched this action movie in theatres or not, your heart will smile if you are an Avatar fan.
On the flip side, there are some scenes that are full of violence but that is necessary for a film like Avatar where a blue skinned man Jake Sully is fighting for his own existence and seeking refuge with the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora.
Avatar 2: The Ending
The movie ends with Metkayina clan accepting Jake Sully for he is while presenting their interest to continue this relationship. However, the life of Sully is still not easy and new adventures are waiting for him on his journey with family.
After watching this on Disney+ or MAX, you will realize why this movie grossed $2 Billion on box office. There is also a planned sequel to this movie which will be released on 20 December 2024.

With the release of this film, the contract of Disney with 20th Century Studios has finally ended. Avatar 2 was the last film of 2022 from 20th Century Studios that was released on Disney+.
