Your Place or Mine was filmed in New York City and Los Angeles inside the United States. On the East Coast, filming took place in Manhattan and Brooklyn, with exterior shots taking place on Montague Street in Brooklyn.
On the West Coast, the movie was filmed in Santa Monica, Burbank, and Malibu inside Los Angeles Country. LA’s Echo Park neighborhood is serving as Debbie’s residence in the movie, the house is located at the top of a 100-step hillside walkway.
Most of the exterior scenes were done outside Peter’s New York City bachelor pad and Montague Street in Brooklyn the filmmakers used the iconic Manhattan Bridge to film some romantic scenes between Debbie and Peter.
According to the film’s director, they wanted to take advantage of the striking location between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. Additionally, certain scenes were filmed at a supposed Manhattan hotspot, though it was actually a set in Hollywood.
The interior shots were done inside Downtown Los Angeles’ new Hotel Per La, which plays a New York club in the movie. Several other scenes were shot in the Openaire restaurant in Los Angeles, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in The LINE LA.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) was recreated at Sunset Gower Studios was due to the fact that the original location for the filming was not available, and the production team had to find an alternative.
