Maid Netflix is an American comedy drama limited series created by Molly Smith Metzler that is inspired by NY times best selling memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive by Stephanie Land. The story moves around the struggles of a single mother named Alex who grapples with poverty, homelessness, and bureaucracy to raise her little daughter. It highlights the hardships and loneliness of a woman in an indifferent world who barely manage to survive. This also shows the poverty in America of old time. Where was Maid on Netflix filmed?
Maid was filmed at the location of Greater Victoria inside British Columbia, Canada. Filming for the Netflix miniseries began on 28 Sep 2020 and completed in 9 April 2021 covering almost 7 months. The beginning part of the series was filmed around the Colwood city and then crew moved to Langford. Various locations were used at the Lagoon Road, Belmont Road, Ocean Boulevard, and Patricia Bay Highway. The 10 episode series follows a variety of locations in each episode inside British Columbia.
Some indoor scenes were also filmed in the district of Saanich inside Gordon Head Recreation Centre. Moreover, Ten Mile Point was also featured in the Netflix limited series along with Vancouver’s beautiful landscape. Some notable locations are Sidney Pier, the Swartz Bay Ferry terminal, and the Great Canadian Dollar Store.
