Dopesick is an American drama series created by Danny Strong that shows the America struggle with Opioid epidemic when people had destroyed their lives amid their rising addiction of drugs. The limited series is based on 2018 nonfiction book ‘Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors and the Drug Company that Addicted America’ written by Beth Macy. It stars Michael Keaton as Dr. Samuel who plays the role of one of the doctor who addicted America. The series look very much realistic as the exact places were used as the filming location but where was filming took place?
Dopesick Filming Location
The filming for the miniseries took place inside Virginia, United States. Principal photography began on December 2021 and wrapped up around 24 May 2021. VA was also the actual epicenter of the opioid epidemic inside the United States and this is also the place where Dopesick sets in. Various towns inside Rockbridge Country, Lexington, and Commonwealth of Virginia were also used to shot some scenes.
Danny also posted some images while filming around the buildings of Alleghany Country and the city of Covington. Some less known locations include Petersburg village, Maidens, Western Virginia, and town of Clifton Forge.
