Do Revenge is an American teenage dark comedy film directed and co-written by Jennifer Robinson along with Celeste Ballard.
It stars Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke in the lead role of two Floridan high school students who takes the responsibility to go after each other’s bullies.
The teen comedy is produced by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron under Likely Story Productions for the original network Netflix.
Where does Do Revenge take place?
Netflix’s Do Revenge was primarily filmed in Atlanta, Georgia during early 2021. Some scenes were also filmed in Miami, Florida where the actual story of the movie took place. Precisely, the scenes that don’t feature Eleanor took place in FL.
The Rosehill Country Day is not a real school where most of the movie sets in. It is a fictional setup which was created by the crew.
The scenes were actually filmed at the Oglethorpe University, a real Liberal arts college located in Brookhaven, a northeastern suburb of Atlanta. University Campus was utilized for the filming purposes and some rooms were specially designed to make the original working environment.
Principal filming began in early 2021 and wrapped up around August 2021. Jennifer told ELLE in July 2022 that the movie was originally planned to take place in Los Angeles, California but the filming location was moved to Miami after a rewrite.
In cast, you are wondering why was the setting changed? It was done because of the scheduling conflicts with Maya Hawke (who is starring as Eleanor). The actress was busy with the shooting of Stranger Things Season 4 at the exact time.
It would be tough for Maya Hawke to visit LA for the filming purpose while one project is already ongoing in Georgia. So, director Jennifer decides to move the movie to Georgia. This modification was done six weeks before the beginning of production.

Synopsis

Review
Most of the critics have given the movie a positive score and that’s what the movie deserves. This is the sort of film that Netflix should specialize in from Kissing Booth to Never Have I Ever movies.
Teenage dramas are getting popular today and nobody wants to see that mid budget films that featured a single hero and a heroine anymore.
Do Revenge movie is inspired from the 1951 thriller Strangers on a Train which was itself an adaptation from the novel of the name by Patricia Highsmith. Jennifer and Celeste has written an excellent plot that moves around the destruction of social status of the two person instead of plotting to kill them.
Overall, the movie is fantastic, female satire, spirited, and relatable with the girls who take their revenge from those who wronged them. Hoping that there will be a Do Revenge 2 but story seems to be completed.
