Autumn Girl is a polish drama film directed and co-written by Katarzyna Klimkiewicz along with Patrycja Nowak. The movie follows the story a free spirited actress and musician named Kalina Jedrusik who was known as an erotic symbol of 1960s before her popularity was crushed by the communist regime of the prude society. Various big players were tried their hardest to take the throne of Kalina but she was resilient and continued to be herself. Where was Autumn Girl filmed?
Autumn Girl was filmed inside Warsaw, Poland. Filming began in November 2019 and wrapped up on 5 Feb 2020. Maria shared that the shooting concluded on the day when Kalina Jędrusik would be 90 years old.

Most of the filming took place at the famous historic Kino Tęcza Theatre located at Pawla Suzina 6 and Rydz-Smigly Park of Rozbrat. Some scenes were also filmed at the Sluzewiec horseracing track at Pulawska 266 while a couple of ending scenes were shot at an unknown town of Warsaw.
Film was planned to shoot in Kraków but was shifted to Warsaw like Pieces of Her which was planned to shoot in British Columbia but shifted to AU.
Is Autumn Girl based on a True Story?
According to the movie writer, the film is based on true incidents of Polish singer and actress Kalina who starred in over 30 films from 1953 to 1991. The film highlights the struggle of Polish Marilyn Monroe who is beautiful, resolved, and wonderful depiction of a true actress.
Most of all the scenes are inspired from the real events except some scenes which are purely fictional. This movie is not just another biopic of a charming personality but a metaphor for the dazzling actress work and strong image. The amount of criticism that the actress received at that time is unimaginable but she managed to pave her way to the society and the rest is history.
