It follows the story of a best selling American author who goes on a trip to Scotland to get some inspiration and in hopes of finding a small castle that featured in her grandfather’s stories. The only way to get that castle back is talking to its owner, Duke of Dunbar. What could this unplanned meeting bring? Is it the beginning of a new romance?

A Castle for Christmas was filmed inside Scotland, United Kingdom. Major filming locations were Edinburgh, East Lothian, and South Queensferry parts of Scotland. The principal filming began on 17 Sep 2020 and wrapped up around 11 Nov 2020 covering almost 3 months.

Brooke Shields shared behind the scenes photos when shooting was ongoing. Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland which is known for its appealing architecture and charming landscapes. Inside Queensferry, estate of Dalmeny House is featured in the film along with some scenes shot at Dakota Hotel.

Synopsis

A Castle for Christmas filming locations

The story of A Castle for Christmas follows Sophie Brown, a well known American author who travels to Scotland to runaway from a scandal and gets some inspiration to write a new story. She is also willing to purchase a beautiful castle that resembles with the one that her grandpa featured in her stories. There she meets the castle owner, Duke Myles who is not sure if she’s the right person to purchase her castle. But as they get to know each other, a new relationship begins and the best selling got an idea for her new story as well when Myles tells her abut the first Duchess of Dunbar.
