Hallmark Channel continues to warm hearts this holiday season with Confessions of a Christmas Letter, a tale of family, love, and finding inspiration amidst the chaos of Christmas.
Directed by Heather Hawthorne Doyle from the screenplay of Jennifer and Kate Smith, the movie stars Angela Kinsey as Settie Rose, a spirited matriarch determined to win her community’s holiday letter-writing competition. But there’s one problem, her writing sucks!
So, in order to win the competition, she hires Juan, a novelist struggling with his own creative challenges. What unfolds is a charming narrative set against the backdrop of a quintessentially cozy, snow-kissed suburban neighborhood.

Confessions of a Christmas Letter was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Filming for the movie began on August 12, 2024 and wrapped after three weeks of shooting on August 30, 2024, as per local film records.

Director Heather Hawthorn Doyle took to Instagram to celebrate the experience, saying:
“This movie was filled with laughter, hugs, and forever friendships – just a beautiful group of people. We had moms on set, a huge awesome ensemble cast, and the hardest-working crew!”
Maja Giannoccaro, the talented photographer behind the project, shared her heartfelt appreciation for the team in an Instagram post filled with gratitude, humor, and a lot of amazing BTS photos.
She expressed her joy at being part of yet another Christmas production, calling it an “anticipated Xmas” and highlighting the unique bond she shared with the team.
Maja also gushed about Lillian and Alec (@lilliandoucetroche and @alecdavinsantos), describing them as not just the “hottest couple on set” but also incredibly talented.
Angela, another team member, was dubbed an “exquisite humble diva” who made a friendly wager with Maja that won her $15, adding some lighthearted fun to the set. The hardworking set decoration and props team received high praise for their efficiency and upbeat spirits, ensuring everything from trash cleanup to set dressing was handled seamlessly.
Finally, Maja made special mention of Mia Moore and Izzy Morshead (@m1amoore and @izzymorshead) and their team for creating the illusion of winter magic by adding fake snow on sunny days—essential for bringing the Christmas setting to life.
